Preliminary Design

The most important stage of your build

Every WHC project begins with our Preliminary Package - because great homes are shaped long before construction starts.

This stage allows us to:

  • Understand how you live (and want to live)

  • Align your vision with your budget

  • Integrate energy-efficient and passive design principles early

  • Resolve complexity before it becomes costly onsite

What’s included:

  • Initial consultation

  • Site analysis

  • Concept design

  • Preliminary budget estimate

  • Architect drawings (up to two drafts)

  • Engineering and BASIX

  • Optional detailed quote and timeline

This stage provides clarity - not just drawings, but confidence.

Open Book Quoting

We operate on a transparent, open-book quoting model.

You’ll see exactly what’s included, what’s excluded, and how costs are built - before you sign a contract.

Our detailed quotes include:

  • Clear category pricing

  • Trade-by-trade detail

  • Window schedules

  • Cabinetry sketches

  • Construction inclusions and methodologies

  • A comprehensive quoting meeting to walk through everything together

Because our quotes are built collaboratively with our trusted trades, the process typically takes 6–8 weeks.
